Survey answers in Google Docs

Add survey answers to a Google Doc, or start a new document from a template for each one, through a Zap that runs the moment a customer answers.

From an answer in Usertick to Google Docs

A Zap appends each answer to a running document, such as a weekly feedback log, or creates a document from a template with the answer filled in.

The Zap starts in Usertick. It can run on every new answer, once the AI has read one, when one turns urgent or when its status changes, and a workflow can hand over only the answers its conditions pick.

Pick a survey in the trigger, and each question arrives as its own field, so the score and the comment land in the Google Docs fields you choose. The answer's email, page, country, device and AI reading come with it.

What the Zap can do in Google Docs

Choose the action in Usertick, and Zapier opens with the trigger and the action already in place.

  1. 01Add text to a document
  2. 02Create a document from a template

Zapier's page for Google Docs listed 16 actions and searches on November 1, 2026. These fit survey answers best.

  • Append Text to Document
  • Create Document From Template
  • Create Document From Text
  • Find and Replace Text

Three Zaps to build with Google Docs

Each one starts on a Usertick trigger and uses an action from Zapier's page for Google Docs.

  • Fill a complaint review template in Google Docs

Response Analyzed, limited to complaints, copies your review template into the folder you select and fills its placeholders with AI theme, AI sentiment, Survey name and the Answers.

Google Docs action: Create Document From Template

  • Start one Google Doc per research participant

An If / else branch for research volunteers ends in Workflow Step, and Create Document From Text starts a doc titled with the Respondent email, with the Answers as its text.

Google Docs action: Create Document From Text

  • Keep a status log in a Google Doc

On Response Status Changed, Append Text to Document adds a line with Survey name, New status and Changed by to the end of the log your team reads in its weekly review.

Zapier's free plan runs a Zap with one action. A Zap with a search step or a filter has more steps and takes a paid Zapier plan.

What Usertick sends to Zapier

Every trigger carries these fields, ready to map into Google Docs.

Survey nameThe survey the answer belongs to
AnswersEach question and its answer, and one field per question when you pick a survey, such as Q1 with the score
Response linkA link that opens the answer in the Usertick inbox
Respondent emailThe email Usertick has for the person who answered, when it has one
Page URL, Country, LanguageWhere the answer came from
Device type, Browser, Operating systemThe device the survey ran on
SourceWhether the answer came from the website, a link, an email or the API
VariantThe A/B variant the person saw
Status, Assignees, CommentsWhere the answer stands in the inbox
AI type, AI urgency, AI theme, AI category, AI sentimentThe AI reading, on every trigger after the AI has read the answer
Previous status, New status, Changed byWhat changed, on Response Status Changed

Attachments such as screenshots stay in Usertick, because a Zap can't open their links. The Response link opens the answer with its files in the inbox.

Connect Google Docs in three steps

Settings opens Zapier with the trigger and the action already in place.

  1. 1

    Pick the action in Usertick

Open Settings, then Integrations, select Google Docs and choose what the Zap does there.

  2. 2

    Sign in on Zapier

Sign in to Usertick from the Zap and choose the organization when you allow access.

  3. 3

Map the fields and turn it on

Pick the survey to watch, map the answer's fields to Google Docs and turn the Zap on.

To send only some answers, add a Zapier step for Google Docs to a workflow instead. The workflow's conditions decide which answers reach the Zap, and the workflow can be published once its Zap is on.

Frequently asked questions

Write each placeholder name inside double curly braces in the template doc. Create Document From Template then lists every placeholder as a field in the Zap, ready for Q1, AI theme or the Answers.

Append Text to Document has a new line setting, so each answer starts on its own line. Adding the Survey name and Response link to the text lets a reader tell answers apart and open one in the inbox.

Zapier comes with every plan in Usertick, and Free runs 1 Zap. On Zapier, a two-step Zap like this one runs on the free plan.

No. The Zap signs in with your Usertick account, and you choose the organization when you allow access. API keys are for Usertick's REST API.

Yes. Response Analyzed filters by type and urgency, Urgent Feedback runs once for each answer that turns urgent, and a workflow's Zapier step hands over only the answers its conditions pick.

Pick the survey in the trigger. Each question then arrives as its own field, such as Q1 with the score, ready to map into Google Docs.

A Zap that starts in Google Docs can use Usertick's actions. Update Response sets an answer's status, type or urgency, Add Comment adds a note your team sees in the inbox, and Find Response looks up an answer by email or ID first.

No. Attachments stay in Usertick, because a Zap can't open their links. The Response link field opens the answer, with its files, in the inbox.
