Demo feedback survey template

Know where each prospect stands, the day after the demo

Four quick questions after a sales demo: how useful it was, what is still unclear, where the prospect stands and what they want to happen next. Usertick reads every typed Other answer, so the question the demo missed reaches the rep before the follow-up.

What this demo feedback survey tells you

A demo feedback survey asks prospects what the demo did for them while the call is still fresh. This template asks how useful the demo was on a five-star scale, what is still unclear, from pricing and setup time to security and fit, where the prospect stands now, and what they would like to happen next. The four questions take about 45 seconds.

It is written for an email within a day of the demo, sent to everyone who attended. Add the attendees as contacts and send now, or schedule the send for the next morning, with the rating inside the email so one tap starts the survey. You can also share its link in the follow-up email your rep already writes.

Results shows the average usefulness with a bar per star, bars for each unclear topic, and donuts for where prospects stand and what they want next, each against the period before. Select Book a technical call to see those prospects' open questions. On every plan, a workflow posts each request to Slack or Microsoft Teams for the rep.

The 4 questions, one by one

What each question asks, why it is there, what it shows you and what to change.

Question 1 of 4 · Stars

How useful was the demo?

Why ask it
The rating tells you whether the demo itself worked, apart from whether the prospect will buy. A demo can be useful to someone who still isn't the right fit.
What you learn
The average, a bar per star and the share who rated 4 or higher, against the period before. Select 1 or 2 stars to see what those prospects found unclear.
Make it yours
Add a dropdown that names the rep, then select a name in Results to compare demos across your team.
Question 2 of 4 · Multiple choice · Optional

What is still unclear?

Why ask it
Prospects don't always say in the call what they didn't follow. A list of common gaps, with Nothing as an option, makes it easy to admit.
What you learn
Bars with the share and count of each topic, since prospects can pick several, with every typed Other answer listed.
Make it yours
Replace the topics with the questions your reps hear most, and send the matching guide in the follow-up.
Question 3 of 4 · Multiple choice

Where do you stand now?

Why ask it
Where the prospect stands sorts the pipeline into ready to try, waiting on colleagues, comparing and not now. Each needs a different next step.
What you learn
A donut with the share of each stage, against the period before. Select Comparing other options to see what those prospects found unclear.
Make it yours
Map each answer to a stage in your CRM, so reps don't have to guess.
Question 4 of 4 · Multiple choice

What would you like to happen next?

Why ask it
Asking what should happen next lets the prospect choose the follow-up, which saves a round of emails.
What you learn
A donut with the share of each next step. Select Get a price quote to see the prospects waiting for a quote.
Make it yours
On every plan, a HubSpot workflow step creates a follow-up task for the deal owner from each request.

Tips for this survey

Small choices that keep people answering and the answers useful.

  1. 01

    Send it the next morning

Schedule the send for the morning after the demo, while the call is fresh and before the prospect's next meeting.

  2. 02

    Route requests to the rep

On every plan, a workflow posts each Book a technical call or Get a price quote answer to the rep's Slack or Microsoft Teams channel.

  3. 03

    Answer the unclear topic

Use question 2 in the follow-up: send the security overview to the prospect who picked Security and the setup plan to the one who picked How long setup takes.

  4. 04

    Review demos each month

Compare the usefulness rating and the unclear topics with the period before. A topic that keeps coming up belongs in the demo itself.
