Booking questions that help you fill your calendar and cut no-shows
Ask clients how booking went, from finding a free time to the wait on the day and the reasons for a missed visit. Each question below comes with when to ask it and what the answer tells you.
What booking and appointment survey questions tell you
Booking and appointment survey questions ask clients how easy it was to book, whether a time that suited them was free, how clear the details were and how long they waited on the day. A client who can't find a slot books elsewhere, and a missed appointment is an empty hour, so these answers point to the changes that keep your calendar full.
Ask the booking questions right after a client books, on your confirmation page, and the visit questions after the appointment, by email or with a link. Ask the missed appointment question only of clients who didn't come, and pick three or four questions for each moment.
Each written answer gets a category, a theme and a sentiment, so requests for evening slots and complaints about waiting sort apart. Results shows the median days ahead clients had to book, a number to follow as you add staff or hours.

The 12 booking and appointments questions, with when to ask each
Grouped by what they tell you. Use them as they are or change the wording.
Making the booking
Measure how easy booking was, how clients booked, whether a good time was free and how clear the details were.
- 01Customer effort
How easy was it to book a time?
A customer effort score for booking, on a 7 point scale. Ask it on the confirmation page, and select a low score in Results to see how those clients made the booking.
- 02Multiple choice
How did you make the booking?
How the client made the booking, from your website to someone booking for them. Results shows each share in a donut, which tells you which channel to improve first.
- 03Yes / No
Was a time that suits you available?
Whether a time that suited the client was free. A rising share of No answers means demand has outgrown your calendar, and the days ahead question shows by how much.
- 04Ruler
How many days ahead did you have to book?
How many days ahead the client had to book, up to 30. Results shows the median and the middle half, a number to follow as you add staff or hours.
- 06Stars
How clear were the details you got after booking?
Rates how clear the details were after booking, such as the time, the place and what to bring. Low ratings point to a confirmation message that needs rewriting.
On the day
Ask about the wait after the visit, and ask clients who missed their appointment what happened.
- 07Multiple choice
How long did you wait past your booked time?
How long the client waited past the booked time. Ask it after the visit, and select the longer waits in Results to read what else those clients said.
- 08Multiple choice
Why did you miss your appointment?
The reason a client missed the appointment. Ask it only of clients who didn't come, by email the same day, and read the share for each reason before you change reminders.
Reminders and the next visit
Learn how clients want reminders and when they want to come back, so the next booking is easy.
- 09This or that
How would you rather be reminded?
Which reminder channel the client prefers. The split bar shows which one to use in your own booking system, since Usertick doesn't send reminders.
- 11Contact
Where should we send your reminder?
A name and email for the reminder. Results shows them in a table, so your team can add each one to your booking system.
- 10Date
When would you like your next appointment?
The date the client would like for the next appointment. Results shows a calendar of picked dates, which helps you plan staff for busy weeks.
What to change
Let clients pick and describe the changes that would make booking better.
- 05Multiple choice
What would make booking better?
Clients pick every change that would make booking better, from more times to moving it themselves. Results shows bars with each share, and the Nothing answers show who is already happy.
- 12Text
What would you change about how booking works?
What the client would change about booking. Each answer gets a theme, so requests such as changing a booking online or weekend slots stand out.
Tips for asking about booking and appointments
Small choices that get honest, useful answers.
- 01
Ask at two moments
Ask about booking on the confirmation page and about the visit afterward, so each answer is about one moment.
- 02
Ask about missed visits separately
Send the missed appointment question only to clients who didn't come, the same day, while the reason is fresh.
- 03
Watch the free time answers
A growing share of clients who couldn't find a good time is a reason to add hours or staff before they book elsewhere.
- 04
Keep reminders in your own system
Usertick doesn't send reminders, so use the reminder answers to set up messages in the booking tool you already use.
