Seller rating survey template

Let buyers rate your sellers, on the four things that make an order

Three questions for after a marketplace order is delivered: a rating grid for item accuracy, shipping speed, packaging and communication, whether the buyer would buy from the seller again and a short note. Send it by email or share the link, and Usertick reads every written note for you.

What this seller rating survey tells you

A marketplace seller rating survey asks buyers to rate the seller who filled their order, so you can see which sellers keep buyers coming back. This template asks three questions in about a minute: a grid that rates the seller on item as described, shipping speed, packaging and communication, a yes or no on buying from the seller again and a short written note.

It is written for an email after the order is delivered. To keep each rating tied to its seller, put the survey's link in the delivered email your marketplace sends, with the seller as a tag such as ?seller=4821; each answer keeps the tag for workflows, Google Sheets, webhooks and the API. Usertick can also send the survey to a contact list, and since the first question is a grid, the email shows a button that opens it.

Every written note is read as it arrives and filed under a category from your list, such as product quality or shipping and delivery, with a type and an urgency, so a note about a fake item or a seller who never answers stands out. Results shows a heat map of the four ratings with row averages and the share who would buy again, across every seller in the survey.

The 3 questions, one by one

What each question asks, why it is there, what it shows you and what to change.

Question 1 of 3 · Matrix · Optional

How would you rate this seller on the following?

Why ask it
A single star rating hides why a seller is good or bad. Four rows separate the item, the shipping, the packaging and the replies, so you can tell a seller exactly what to fix.
What you learn
A heat map shows how each row was rated, with row averages, so you can see whether accuracy or shipping speed pulls the overall picture down.
Make it yours
Keep the four rows the same for every seller, so ratings line up when you sort them by seller in Google Sheets or through the API.
Question 2 of 3 · Yes / No

Would you buy from this seller again?

Why ask it
Buying again is the outcome a marketplace cares about most, and a yes or no is easy to count per seller once each answer carries the seller tag.
What you learn
Results shows the share that said yes against the period before. Select No to see which rows those buyers rated low.
Make it yours
On every plan, a workflow can post every No with its seller tag to Slack or Microsoft Teams, so your seller team spots problem sellers early.
Question 3 of 3 · Text · Optional

Leave a short note for other buyers

Why ask it
A short note catches what the grid can't: an item that was used, a missing part, a seller who solved a problem quickly.
What you learn
Each note appears with its sentiment and theme, filterable by theme, with up to 8 themes and their trends, so complaints of one kind stand out across sellers.
Make it yours
Usertick doesn't show notes to other buyers, so if you publish them on seller pages, do it from your own system and say so in the survey text.

Tips for this survey

Small choices that keep people answering and the answers useful.

  1. 01

Tag every link with the seller

Add the seller as a tag on the link your marketplace sends, so each answer can be matched to a seller in Google Sheets, a webhook or the API.

  2. 02

Coach sellers on the lowest row

The row with the lowest average across sellers is where marketplace guidance helps most, such as packing standards when Packaging lags behind.

  3. 03

    Ask once the order arrives

Send the survey after delivery, so buyers can rate the item and the packaging. Usertick doesn't send on a delivery event, so the timing comes from your marketplace's email or a scheduled send.

  4. 04

    Read serious notes first

Filter the inbox by urgency each day, give notes about fake, unsafe or missing items an owner and contact the seller the same day.

Frequently asked questions

Add the seller as a tag to the survey link your marketplace sends, such as ?seller=4821. Each answer keeps the tag for workflows, Google Sheets, webhooks and the API, where you can group ratings by seller; Results itself doesn't split answers by tag.

Usertick doesn't publish answers. On every plan, a webhook sends each note to your own system, and from Pro the API does too, so your marketplace decides what to show.

After the order is delivered, once the buyer has the item. Put the link in your marketplace's delivered email, or send it from Usertick to a list of recent buyers.

Not the first question. A grid shows as a button in the email that opens the survey. For a one-tap answer in the email, move the Yes / No question to the top.
