Mortgage advice survey template

Check that clients leave with clear options, and no pressure to sign

Four questions the day after a mortgage meeting: how clear the advice was, whether the advisor compared options, how much pressure the client felt and how confident they are about the next step. Add an open question and Usertick reads every written answer for you.

What this mortgage advice survey tells you

A mortgage advice survey asks clients about the meeting while the options are still on the table. This template asks four questions in about 30 seconds: how clear the advice was, whether the advisor compared several options, how much pressure the client felt to decide and how confident they feel about their next step.

It is written for an email the day after the meeting, before the client has signed anything. The same template runs as a link your advisors add to their follow-up email with the documents, or in the chat layout, one question at a time, for clients who answer on a phone.

Results shows the clarity rating as CSAT, the share whose advisor compared options and the pressure and confidence averages with a column per step, each against the period before. Add an open question and Usertick reads each written answer, files it under a category from your list and gives it a type, a sentiment and an urgency.

The 4 questions, one by one

What each question asks, why it is there, what it shows you and what to change.

Question 1 of 4 · Stars

How clear was the advice you received?

Why ask it
Clients who don't understand the advice delay, ask again or go to another lender. A 5-point rating from very unclear to very clear gives you a figure per period for how well advice lands.
What you learn
Results shows the average, a bar per rating and the share who rated 4 or higher, against the period before.
Make it yours
Keep it first, so the client can tap a rating inside the email and the rest of the survey opens with it kept.
Question 2 of 4 · Yes / No

Did your advisor compare several options with you?

Why ask it
Comparing products is what clients expect from advice. A Yes or No shows how often meetings end with only one product on the table.
What you learn
Results shows the share that said yes, against the period before. Select No to see how clear and how pressured those clients felt.
Make it yours
Read the No answers next to your advisors' notes before you treat them as a training need, since some clients qualify for only one product.
Question 3 of 4 · Big scale

How much pressure did you feel to decide?

Why ask it
Pressure to decide is the warning sign in advice, and clients rarely raise it on their own. Asking directly turns a feeling into a number your sales and compliance leads can follow.
What you learn
Results shows the average and a column for each step from 1 to 10. Read it the other way round from the other scales: a high average means more pressure.
Make it yours
Watch the top columns. Filter to answers of 8 or more to narrow the page to those clients and see whether their advisor compared options.
Question 4 of 4 · Big scale

How confident do you feel about your next step?

Why ask it
A client who knows the next step moves forward with you. Low confidence after a meeting means a follow-up call is needed before the client goes quiet.
What you learn
Results shows the average confidence and a column per step from 1 to 10, against the period before.
Make it yours
Give every low score an owner in the inbox, so the advisor calls that client within the week.

Tips for this survey

Small choices that keep people answering and the answers useful.

  1. 01

    Send it the next day

Import the day's meetings as a contact list and send, or schedule the send up to 30 days ahead. The next morning is close enough to remember the meeting and early enough to act on a low score.

  2. 02

    Give each advisor a copy

Results reads a survey as a whole. To compare advisors or offices, give each one its own copy of the survey and its own contact list.

  3. 03

    Add an open question

The template has no written question. Add an optional What could your advisor have explained better? at the end, so Usertick has the client's own words to read.

  4. 04

    Follow up on pressure

On every plan, a workflow can post every answer of 8 or more on the pressure scale to Slack or Microsoft Teams, so a manager reviews the meeting the same week.
