Usertick
SEO report feedback template

Shape the monthly SEO report around the metric your client cares about

Three questions to send with the monthly report: how easy it is to follow, whether the client can see how the work connects to revenue, and which metric matters most to them. Add an open question and Usertick reads every written answer too.

What this SEO report survey tells you

An SEO report feedback survey checks that the monthly report does its job for the person who pays for the work. This template asks three questions in under half a minute: how easy the report is to follow, whether the client can see how your work connects to revenue, and which metric matters most to them.

It is written to go out with the monthly report, as a link at the end of the report or in the email that delivers it. Usertick can also send it to the client's contacts with the first rating inside the email. Usertick doesn't repeat sends on its own, so schedule each month's send or paste the link into each report.

Results shows the ease rating with the share who gave it 4 or 5, the share who can see the link to revenue, and the share of each metric, each compared with the period before. Typed Other answers are listed beside the chart, and if you add an open question, Usertick reads each answer and files it under a category such as communication or quality of work.

In an email

Send it from Usertick to a contact list, with the first question inside the email. A tap on an answer opens the rest of the survey with that answer already kept. Usertick sends 50 emails a month on the free plan, or connect your own sender.

The 3 questions, one by one

What each question asks, why it is there, what it shows you and what to change.

Question 1 of 3 · Stars

How easy is the monthly report to follow?

Why ask it
A report that is hard to follow gets skimmed or forwarded without a word. A five-step rating from Very difficult to Very easy tells you whether the layout works for this reader.
What you learn
The average on the 1 to 5 scale, a bar per rating and the share who rated 4 or higher, compared with the period before, so a change to the report shows up after the next send.
Make it yours
Keep it first, since a star rating sits inside the email and one tap opens the other two questions.
Question 2 of 3 · Yes / No

Can you see how our work connects to revenue?

Why ask it
Clients keep paying for SEO when they can tie it to revenue. A plain yes or no shows whether your report makes that link for them.
What you learn
The share that said yes, compared with the period before. Select No to see which metric those clients care about most.
Make it yours
Add skip logic so a No goes to a short open question asking what would make the link clear, since logic works on any answer on every plan.
Question 3 of 3 · Multiple choice

Which metric matters most to you?

Why ask it
A report can lead with rankings while the client's board asks about leads. One choice shows what to put on the first page.
What you learn
A donut with the share and count for each metric, with every typed Other answer listed and stacked shares over time.
Make it yours
Put the client's chosen metric at the top of next month's report, and replace any option your service doesn't report on.

What the answers show

Results turns each question into numbers you can follow week by week.

How easy is the monthly report to follow?

The average rating and the share who gave 4 or 5 stars, against the period before.

Which metric matters most to you?

The share of each answer with its count. Select an answer to narrow the whole page to those people and read what else they said.

Tips for this survey

Small choices that keep people answering and the answers useful.

  1. 01

Put the link inside the report

Add the survey's link with a short line at the end of the report itself, so the client answers right after reading.

  2. 02

Ask the person who reads it

Send it to whoever reads the report each month, and to the person who signs off on the budget if that is someone else.

  3. 03

Change one thing at a time

When you change the report layout, keep the questions the same, so the ease rating shows whether the change helped.

  4. 04

    Repeat the send each month

Usertick has no recurring sends, so schedule each month's send up to 30 days ahead, or press Send again, with Skip people who already received this survey turned off.
