Usertick
Post-event follow-up survey template

Learn what lasted after the event, three months on

Three questions for 90 days after your event: what attendees have put into practice, how many people from the event they still talk to and how likely they are to come back. Use it as it is or change any question, and Usertick reads every written answer for you.

What this post-event follow-up survey tells you

A post-event follow-up survey asks attendees what the event changed once the buzz has worn off. This template takes under a minute: what they have put into practice, how many contacts from the event they keep and how likely they are to attend next year. The answers show the return on the ticket in the attendee's own words, which is the case your sales team makes for next year.

It is written for an email 90 days after the event, sent by Usertick to your attendee list. Usertick schedules sends up to 30 days ahead, so set up the send about two months after the event, or put the survey link in your own early-bird email for next year.

Every answer about what attendees applied is read as it arrives and given a category, a theme and a sentiment, so the sessions with lasting value show. Results shows the share for each contact count and the share likely to return, and selecting an answer filters the whole page to those attendees.

The 3 questions, one by one

What each question asks, why it is there, what it shows you and what to change.

Question 1 of 3 · Text · Optional

What have you put into practice from the event?

Why ask it
What attendees put into practice is the value of the event that lasts. Three months on, the answers name the sessions and ideas that changed their work.
What you learn
Each answer with its sentiment and theme, filterable by theme, with up to 8 themes and their trends, so the sessions people applied most rise to the top. Select a theme to read every answer behind it.
Make it yours
With the open question first, the email shows a button; move the question about next year to the top when you want an answer inside the email.
Question 2 of 3 · Multiple choice

How many people from the event are you still in touch with?

Why ask it
Lasting contacts are the networking value of the event. Asking three months later counts the connections that stuck, beyond the badges scanned on the day.
What you learn
A donut with the share and count for none, 1 to 2, 3 to 5 and more than 5, compared with the period before. Select None to read what those attendees put into practice.
Make it yours
Use the same ranges as your networking survey from the day after, so you can see how many conversations turned into contacts.
Question 3 of 3 · Multiple choice

How likely are you to attend next year?

Why ask it
Intent to return, asked after the excitement has faded, is a sober read on next year's sales and on whether the event's value lasted. Attendees who still say Very likely after three months are the ones to invite first.
What you learn
A donut of very likely to unlikely with the count for each, compared with the period before. Select Unlikely to read what those attendees put into practice, if anything.
Make it yours
Open early-bird sales soon after, while the answers show how many attendees are ready to come back.

Tips for this survey

Small choices that keep people answering and the answers useful.

  1. 01

    Put it in your calendar

Usertick schedules a send up to 30 days ahead, so set a reminder for about 60 days after the event and schedule the send then. Pick a date clear of holidays, when attendees are back at their desks.

  2. 02

    Use the same attendee list

Send it to the list you used for the post-event survey, so the people who answered the day after can answer again three months on.

  3. 03

    Quote what attendees applied

Answers about what attendees put into practice make honest material for next year's event page. Ask before you quote anyone by name.

  4. 04

    Compare with the day after

Ask the same likelihood question in your post-event survey, so you can see how intent changed between the day after and three months on.
