Usertick
Virtual event survey template

Hear how the event looked from home, from the stream to the schedule

Four quick questions for the day after your online event: the stream quality, how easy it was to join, how attendees took part and whether the schedule fit their time zone. Use it as it is or add an open question, and Usertick reads every written answer for you.

What this virtual event survey tells you

A virtual event survey asks online attendees about the parts you can't see from the stage: the stream, the join link and the hours. This template takes under a minute: a rating for the stream, an effort score for joining, the ways they took part and a yes or no on the time zone.

It is written for an email within a day of the event, sent by Usertick to your registration list with the stream rating inside the message. The same template also runs as a link in the platform's chat as the last session ends, or as a popup on the page of your website where the recordings live.

Results shows the stream average with the share who rated 4 or higher, the share who found joining easy, a bar for each way of taking part and the share whose time zone worked. Select No on the time zone question to see how those attendees took part. Add an open question and Usertick reads each written answer and files it by category and theme.

The 4 questions, one by one

What each question asks, why it is there, what it shows you and what to change.

Question 1 of 4 · Stars

How would you rate the stream quality?

Why ask it
A stream that buffers or drops audio undoes good content. Asking about it first separates platform problems from content problems.
What you learn
The average out of 5, a bar for each rating and the share who rated 4 or higher, compared with the period before, so a change of platform shows in the numbers.
Make it yours
Keep it first, so attendees can rate the stream inside the email with one tap.
Question 2 of 4 · Customer effort

How easy was it to join the sessions?

Why ask it
Lost join links, extra logins and browser checks cost attendees the first minutes of every session. An effort scale shows how much friction your setup added.
What you learn
The average on the 1 to 7 scale and the share who found it easy, with a hard-to-easy bar. Select the hard scores to see how those attendees rated the stream.
Make it yours
When joining is hard, send one join link per day in place of one per session, then compare the next event's scores.
Question 3 of 4 · Multiple choice · Optional

How did you take part?

Why ask it
Online attendees can watch quietly or take part through chat, Q&A, polls and networking rooms. Knowing which they used tells you which features are worth paying for.
What you learn
Bars with the share and count for each way of taking part, since attendees can pick several. The share for I only watched shows how many stayed passive.
Make it yours
List the features your platform offered, using the names attendees saw on screen.
Question 4 of 4 · Yes / No

Did the schedule work for your time zone?

Why ask it
A global audience can't join a session that runs at 3 a.m. their time. A yes or no tells you whether to repeat sessions or record more of them.
What you learn
The share that said yes, compared with the period before. Select No to see how those attendees took part and whether they only watched.
Make it yours
When many say no, run the main sessions twice or add a live slot at a second time of day.

What the answers show

Results turns each question into numbers you can follow week by week.

How would you rate the stream quality?

The average rating and the share who gave 4 or 5 stars, against the period before.

How did you take part?

The share of each answer with its count. Select an answer to narrow the whole page to those people and read what else they said.

Tips for this survey

Small choices that keep people answering and the answers useful.

  1. 01

    Send it within a day

Schedule the send before the event ends, so it reaches attendees the next morning while the stream and the join steps are fresh.

  2. 02

Ask in the chat as well

For attendees who never open the follow-up email, run a copy of the survey as a link and paste it in the chat of the closing session.

  3. 03

    Add one open question

The template has no text question. Add What would make the next online event better? and Usertick reads each answer, files it by category and theme, and flags the urgent ones.

  4. 04

    Ask for the region

When you plan sessions by time zone, add a dropdown for region and select each region in Results to compare stream and schedule answers.
