Usertick
Banking app survey template

Hear what customers want from your app, right after they make a payment

Three questions for the web version of your banking app: how satisfied customers are, how well logging in, finding things, payments and spending views work, and what is missing. Use it as it is or change any question, and Usertick reads every written answer for you.

What this banking app survey tells you

A banking app survey asks customers about the app while they are using it. This template asks three questions in about a minute: a satisfaction rating for the app, a grid for logging in, finding what they need, making payments and seeing their spending, and an open question about what is missing.

It is written for a popup in your web banking app right after a payment is completed. Website surveys run in web apps and single-page apps when the Usertick script is on your own domain; a mobile app can open the survey's link instead, for example from a feedback button in its settings.

Every written answer is read as it arrives and filed under a category from your list, such as App and sign in or Payments and transfers, with a type, a sentiment and an urgency. Results shows the rating as CSAT and a heat map of the four tasks, each against the period before, so a release that helped or hurt shows up in the next period.

The 3 questions, one by one

What each question asks, why it is there, what it shows you and what to change.

Question 1 of 3 · Stars

How satisfied are you with our app?

Why ask it
One overall rating gives your product team a CSAT figure to follow from release to release. Asking right after a payment means the customer just used the app for something that matters to them.
What you learn
Results shows the average, a bar per rating and the share who rated 4 or higher, against the period before.
Make it yours
Keep it to one tap at the top. The popup should take seconds when someone has just paid a bill.
Question 2 of 3 · Matrix · Optional

How well does each of these work?

Why ask it
A low rating doesn't say where the app falls short. The grid splits it into the four tasks people do most, so you know whether to fix sign-in, navigation, payments or the spending view.
What you learn
Results shows a heat map per row with row averages, so a weak row such as Logging in stands out, and each row compares with the period before.
Make it yours
Change the rows to your own main tasks, such as saving, investing or sending money abroad, and keep it to four or five rows.
Question 3 of 3 · Text · Optional

What's missing from the app?

Why ask it
Customers know which feature sends them to another bank's app or to a spreadsheet. An open question collects those gaps in their own words.
What you learn
Usertick reads each answer as it arrives, files it under a category and a theme from your list, marks it as an idea, a bug or a complaint, and flags the urgent ones, in any language. Results shows up to 8 themes with their trends.
Make it yours
On every plan, a workflow can open a Jira or Linear issue for each answer marked as a bug, so the app team sees it with the customer's words.

Tips for this survey

Small choices that keep people answering and the answers useful.

  1. 01

    Open it after a payment

Have your app call Usertick.trigger('payment_completed') when a payment succeeds and use that custom event as the trigger, from Starter or on 1 survey on Free. The popup then opens at the moment the template is written for.

  2. 02

    Let the confirmation show first

Add a few seconds of wait after the trigger, so the customer sees the payment went through before the popup appears. Never show it during a transfer.

  3. 03

    Target signed-in customers

Pass traits such as the plan or the signup date with Usertick.identify(), and target the customers you want to hear from, such as new accounts or a premium plan, from Starter.

  4. 04

Ask the same customers again later

The survey shows until a customer answers once. Set it to show again after a number of days, such as 90, to follow the same customers from release to release.
