Venue questions that show why organizers book you again
Ask the people who booked your venue about the space, the catering, the coordinator and the planning. Each question below comes with when to ask it and what the answer tells you.
What event venue survey questions tell you
Event venue survey questions ask the organizer, the person who booked and planned the event with you, how the day went and how much work it took to get there: the space, the catering, the staff and the technology, the coordinator and the planning process. One organizer can bring a wedding, a yearly conference and a dozen referrals, so their view carries more weight than any single guest's.
Send the survey two or three days after the event, once the organizer has heard back from their own guests. Usertick sends it by email to your list of organizers, or you put the link in your own thank-you note. Pick five or six questions, and keep the questions about the next event for the end.
Each written answer gets a category, a theme, a sentiment and an urgency, and each response can be given an owner in the inbox. On every plan, workflows can send answers to HubSpot, so an organizer planning the next event reaches your sales team where it already works.

The 14 events and venue questions, with when to ask each
Grouped by what they tell you. Use them as they are or change the wording.
How the event went
Start with the overall verdict and the grid behind it, so you know which part of the day to talk about first.
- 02NPS
How likely are you to recommend us for an event?
The recommend question on a 0 to 10 scale, asked about events in particular. Results shows the score with promoters, passives and detractors; promoters are the organizers to ask for a review.
- 03Yes / No
Did the event run to plan?
A yes or no on whether the event ran to plan. Select No in Results to read those organizers' grid ratings and open answers before your debrief with the team.
- 01Matrix
Rate the venue on each
Rates the space, catering, staff and technology on one grid. The heat map shows which part of the day let the event down, so you know whether to talk to the kitchen or the AV team.
- 09Big scale
How much stress did we take off your plate?
How much stress the venue took off the organizer, from 1 to 10. It is the value an events team sells, so a falling average deserves a closer look at the planning questions.
Planning with your team
These questions show how much work the event took before the day and which services the organizer relied on.
- 10Customer effort
How easy was the planning process?
A customer effort score for the planning process, on a 7-point scale. Results shows the average and the share who found it easy; ask it of every organizer, including those whose event went well.
- 06Stars
How responsive was your event coordinator?
A star rating for how responsive the coordinator was. Read it beside the planning effort score to see whether a hard process came from slow replies.
- 08Multiple choice
Which services did you use?
Lists the services the organizer used, with several picks allowed. Results shows a bar per service; low use of photography or decoration may mean organizers don't know you offer them.
The event in numbers
The type and size of the event, so you can compare weddings with conferences and small groups with large ones.
- 05Multiple choice
What type of event was it?
One pick for the type of event. Select a type in Results to see how weddings, conferences and parties rated the venue on their own.
- 04Number
How many guests attended?
The number of guests who attended, from 1 to 5,000. Results shows the median and the middle half; compare the scores of small and large events, since a venue can suit one size better.
Planning the next event
Close with what the organizer would change and what they plan next, so the survey ends with a reason to talk again.
- 07Text
What would you change for next time?
An open question for what the organizer would change next time. Each answer gets a theme, so the same request for better signage or a longer bar service shows up across events.
- 11This or that
For the next event you would prefer
Two pairs: a package or pick and choose, and indoor or outdoor. Results shows a split bar per pair, which helps before you redesign your event packages.
- 14Slider
What budget per guest are you planning for?
The budget per guest the organizer plans for, on a slider from 20 to 300. Results shows the median and the middle half, a useful range when you price the next package.
- 12Contact
Who should we contact for your next event?
Collects a name and an email for the next event. Results lists them in a table; give each one an owner in the inbox so a sales follow-up happens within the week.
- 13File upload
Upload your event schedule or floor plan
A schedule or floor plan for the next event, attached to the answer. It gives your coordinator a head start before the first call. File upload is on every plan, 1 per survey on Free.
Tips for asking about events and venue
Small choices that get honest, useful answers.
- 01
Ask the organizer after the guests
Send the survey two or three days after the event, once the organizer has heard from their own guests and can answer for them too.
- 02
Ask about the planning too
A great event that took weeks of chasing can still lose the next booking. Keep the planning effort score next to the venue grid.
- 03
Follow up within the week
Give each organizer who leaves contact details an owner in the inbox, and call while the event is still fresh.
- 04
Bring the heat map to the debrief
Share the grid and the open answers at your post-event meeting with the kitchen, the AV team and the coordinators.
