Usertick
Webinar feedback survey template

Find out what your webinar was worth, and what to teach next

Four questions to send with the recording: how useful the webinar was, how much of it people watched, why they joined and the topic for the next one. Use it as it is or change any question, and Usertick reads every written answer for you.

What this webinar feedback survey tells you

A webinar feedback survey asks viewers whether the hour was worth it and what would bring them back. This template takes about a minute: a usefulness score, how much they watched, why they signed up and what the next webinar should cover.

It is written for the follow-up email that carries the recording, sent within a day by Usertick to your registration list with the first question inside the message. The same template also runs as a link in the webinar chat as you close, or as a popup on the page of your website that hosts the replay.

Every topic request is read as it arrives and given a theme and a sentiment, so repeated requests group together. Results shows the usefulness score with the share who rated 4 or higher, how many stayed to the end and the reasons people joined, and selecting an answer filters the whole page to those viewers.

The 4 questions, one by one

What each question asks, why it is there, what it shows you and what to change.

Question 1 of 4 · Stars

How useful was the webinar?

Why ask it
Usefulness is the measure viewers apply to a webinar, more than polish or slides. Asking it first gives you one number to compare from webinar to webinar.
What you learn
The average out of 5, a bar for each rating and the share who rated 4 or higher, compared with the period before.
Make it yours
Keep it first: in the email it can be answered with one tap, and the rest of the survey opens with the score kept.
Question 2 of 4 · Multiple choice

How much of it did you watch?

Why ask it
A viewer who left after ten minutes rates a different webinar from one who stayed to the end. This answer puts each usefulness score in context.
What you learn
A donut of all, most, about half and less than half with the count for each. Select Less than half to read why those viewers joined and what they want next.
Make it yours
When many leave early, move the most useful part of the next webinar into the first fifteen minutes and watch this answer change.
Question 3 of 4 · Multiple choice · Optional

Why did you join?

Why ask it
People join for the topic, the speaker, a buying decision or to get more from a product they already use. Each reason calls for a different follow-up.
What you learn
Bars with the share and count for each reason, since viewers can pick several, with the typed Other answers listed beside the chart.
Make it yours
Add the reasons your own audience gives, such as a certification or a product launch, and keep Other for the rest.
Question 4 of 4 · Text · Optional

What should our next webinar cover?

Why ask it
Viewers tell you what they still want to learn. Their requests are the plan for the next webinar.
What you learn
Each answer with its sentiment and theme, filterable by theme, with up to 8 themes and their trends, so the most requested topics rise to the top.
Make it yours
When a topic keeps coming up, announce it in the next recording email, so viewers see their request turned into a session.

Tips for this survey

Small choices that keep people answering and the answers useful.

  1. 01

    Send it with the recording

Add the recording as a button in the survey email, so viewers have a reason to open it, and schedule the send for the morning after the webinar.

  2. 02

    Include people who missed it

Registrants who didn't attend can still answer after watching the recording. The question about how much they watched keeps their answers apart when you filter.

  3. 03

    Pass evaluators to sales

Answers sent through Usertick email are tied to each contact. Select the answer about evaluating the product in Results and give those responses a sales owner in the inbox.

  4. 04

    Keep one survey per series

Ask the same four questions after every webinar in a series, so Results compares each period with the one before. Duplicate the survey when one webinar needs results of its own.
