Visitors from a campaign, or a share of traffic
Ask people who arrived from a newsletter or an ad, using the campaign tags of the page they landed on, or show the question to a share of visitors. Starter and above, and 1 survey on Free.
Open one short question the moment a visitor heads for the tabs, on desktop and on a phone. Usertick shows the reasons visitors leave each page, reads every comment and sends the answers to the team that can fix the cause.
Analytics shows that people left a page. It can't show what they were looking for, what the price made them think or which question went unanswered. An exit-intent survey asks at the last moment it still can, as the visitor is about to go.
Usertick opens the question when the pointer leaves through the top of the window, toward the tabs or the address bar, and on phones after a quick flick back to the top of the page. You choose the pages, the visitors and how often it comes back, so it never feels like a wall.
Results charts the reasons for each page and how they change, and the AI reads every written answer for its theme. Workflows send the reasons to Slack or a spreadsheet, and a variant can test new wording on a share of visitors.
One question at the moment of leaving, on the pages where leaving costs you most.
When the pointer leaves the page through the top of the window, toward the tabs, the address bar or the close button, the question opens. It opens at most once per page view.
On touch screens there is no pointer, so Usertick watches for a quick scroll back up toward the address bar and opens the question as a sheet at the bottom of the screen.
Ask shoppers who head for the tabs with items in their cart, in a corner or centered over a dimmed page, and learn what stopped the order.
Include the pricing page, the cart, the sign-up form or one landing page, and leave out the rest, with rules on the address that work on every plan.
Targeting and repeat rules keep the question polite.
Ask people who arrived from a newsletter or an ad, using the campaign tags of the page they landed on, or show the question to a share of visitors. Starter and above, and 1 survey on Free.
Show it once per visitor, or wait a number of days after someone closes it. On Pro, each close can double the wait, and the third retires the survey for that visitor.
Results charts the reasons and reads the comments, page by page.
See the share of each reason, with every typed "Other" answer beside the chart, and filter by page, device or country to see where each one comes from.
Every written answer is sorted into a theme as it arrives, in any language, and Results shows which themes grew against the period before.
Workflows send each answer on, and variants compare two wordings of the question.
Post answers to the channel of the team that owns the page, with buttons to assign them in Usertick. Every plan.
Add each answer to Google Sheets with the page it came from, ready for a weekly review of the pages that lose the most visitors. Every plan.
When Google Analytics, FullStory or UXCam is on the page, Usertick sends an event with the survey and the score, so you can find the visit there. Every plan.
Show a shorter question or a different first option to half of visitors, and Results compares the two once both sides have 30 answers. Business and above.
Four steps from a template to your first reasons.
Pick the Exit intent, Leaving the store or Pricing page feedback template, or describe the page to Create with AI.
Templates open after a short delay by default. Choose exit intent as the trigger, and add a scroll condition so only people who read the page are asked.
Include the pages where leaving matters, and choose how often the question can return, such as once per visitor.
Publish the survey, and answers arrive in Results and the inbox with each comment read. A workflow sends them to your team.
Six habits that keep the question short and the answers honest.
Lead with the main reason as a single choice. A visitor on the way out gives one tap, and rarely more.
A pricing page, a cart and a blog post lose people for different reasons, so give each its own short list with "Other".
Add a scroll or time condition, so the question reaches people who looked at the page instead of everyone who bounced.
Let the survey rest for days after a close, so returning visitors aren't asked again on every page.
Keep the close button, and avoid the centered format on pages where people simply read.
Filter the results by page before you act, since the same reason can mean different things on the cart and on pricing.
Start from a template written for the store, the pricing page or the sign-up form, and change any question.
An exit-intent survey opens when a visitor shows signs of leaving a page, such as moving the pointer toward the browser tabs. It asks one short question, usually why they are leaving or what they were looking for, while the visit is still in front of them.
On desktop, the question opens when the pointer leaves the page through the top of the window, toward the tabs, the address bar or the close button. On phones and tablets, it opens after a quick scroll back up toward the address bar. Either way, it opens at most once per page view.
Yes, in the mobile browser. Usertick watches for a fast flick back to the top of the page, where the address bar and tabs are, and opens the question as a sheet at the bottom of the screen. Native mobile apps aren't supported.
No survey can. The back button, a keyboard shortcut that closes the tab and switching apps on a phone leave no signal to react to. Exit intent catches the visitors who move to leave on the page, which is often enough to learn the main reasons.
Yes. On every plan, include and exclude pages by their address, and limit the survey to devices, countries or new and returning visitors. Campaign tags, earlier surveys and a share of traffic work on 1 survey on Free and on every survey from Starter, and from Starter you can target signed-in users.
Choose a repeat rule: once per visitor, every few days, or until answered. Add a wait after a visitor closes it. On Pro, each close can double the wait, and the third retires the survey for that visitor.
Yes. Open the survey when any condition is met, or only when all of them are, such as exit intent after scrolling halfway. Each condition can be limited to desktop, tablet or mobile, and a short wait can follow.
You can add a call to action that opens your own offer page, and a branching rule can show it only to people who chose a reason such as the price. Usertick doesn't create or apply discount codes.
Yes. The exit-intent trigger, page rules, Results, AI reading and workflows come with every plan, the free plan included. Starter adds campaign and traffic targeting on every survey, Pro adds the doubling wait, and Business adds A/B variants.
