Rental questions that catch the charge or the wait before it becomes a review
Ask customers about pickup, the car, the charges and the transfer driver. Each question below comes with when to ask it and what the answer tells you.
What car rental survey questions tell you
Car rental survey questions ask customers about the counter, the car and the bill: how long they waited, whether they got the car they booked, whether it was clean and whether the final charges matched the quote. Transfer questions cover the driver and the clock. Disputes over fuel, damage and extra fees can turn a smooth trip into a complaint, and these answers show where that happens.
Ask about pickup with a QR code at the desk or on the key tag, and about the whole rental by email after the car is returned. Pick four to six questions, and tag the link with the branch so each answer keeps it for Google Sheets and workflows.
Written answers are read for a category, a theme, a type and a sentiment, and each response gets an urgency, so a damage dispute reaches the branch manager ahead of a comment about the radio. On every plan, a workflow can send every charge complaint to a Slack or Microsoft Teams channel.

The 14 car rental and transfers questions, with when to ask each
Grouped by what they tell you. Use them as they are or change the wording.
Pickup at the desk
Effort, minutes and rental length show how pickup feels, and the open question tells you what to fix first.
- 01Customer effort
How easy was picking up the car?
A customer effort score for pickup, on seven points. Results shows the average and the share who found it easy; tag each branch's link so a slow counter stands out against the period before.
- 02Ruler
How many minutes did you wait at the desk?
Minutes at the desk, from 0 to 60. Results shows the median and the middle half; a wide middle half means some customers wait far longer, which is worth checking against flight arrival times.
- 12Dropdown
How long did you rent for?
Rental length, from one day to longer than a week. Select an answer in Results to see whether long rentals bring more charge disputes or cleaning complaints.
- 07Text
What would make pickup faster?
An open question on making pickup faster. Answers get a theme, so requests for online check-in, key boxes or more staff at peak times add up over the month.
The car and the charges
These questions find gaps between the booking and the car or the bill, which is where disputes start.
- 03Yes / No
Was the car as booked?
A yes or no on getting the car that was booked. Select No in Results to see whether those customers also report extra charges or a lower price rating.
- 05Stars
How clean was the car?
A star rating for how clean the car was. Results shows the average and a bar per rating, and a drop at one branch points to the turnaround between rentals.
- 04Yes / No
Were the charges what you expected?
A yes or no on the final bill. Every No is worth a reply, so give these answers an owner in the inbox and check the charge before the customer calls.
- 06Multiple choice
What went wrong with the car, if anything?
One answer for the main problem, with Nothing first so customers with a smooth rental don't have to invent one. The donut in Results shows whether waits, charges or damage disputes lead.
- 11Big scale
How fair was the total price?
Price fairness on a 1 to 10 scale. Results shows the average and a column per step; read it with the charges question, since a surprise fee pulls this score down.
Transfers and the driver
Ask transfer guests about the driver and the clock, and ask everyone which way they prefer to get around.
- 08Stars
How would you rate the transfer driver?
A star rating for the transfer driver, shown only to customers who booked a transfer. Tag the link with the transfer company to compare suppliers.
- 09Yes / No
Was the driver on time?
A yes or no on the driver's punctuality. Read it with the driver rating: a late driver with a high rating means the schedule needs fixing more than the person.
- 10This or that
How do you like to get around on a trip?
Two pairs: rental car or transfers, full to full or prepaid fuel. The split bar per pair helps before you change your fuel policy or bundle transfers with bookings.
Records at pickup
Use these in a pickup form at the counter: photos of the car and a signed record of its condition.
- 13File upload
Upload photos of the car at pickup
Photos of the car at pickup, attached to the response and shown in the Results gallery with location data removed. They settle damage disputes at return. File upload is on every plan, 1 per survey on Free.
- 14Signature
Sign to confirm the car's condition at pickup
A signature confirming the car's condition, collected at pickup with the photos. Signatures appear in the Results gallery with each response. Signature is on every plan, 1 per survey on Free.
Tips for asking about car rental and transfers
Small choices that get honest, useful answers.
- 01
Ask about pickup at pickup
Place a QR code at the desk or on the key tag, so customers rate the counter while they still remember the wait.
- 02
Survey the bill after return
Send the charges and price questions after the car comes back, once the final invoice is in the customer's hands.
- 03
Keep condition records apart
Use the photo and signature questions in a pickup form, and keep the feedback survey for the customer's opinion.
- 04
Reply to every charge complaint
Give each No on the charges question an owner in the inbox, and explain the charge before the customer disputes it with their bank.

Ask about pickup at the desk with a QR code, and about the car and the charges by email within a day of return. Usertick sends to a contact list now or on a date up to 30 days ahead, with no automatic send when a car is checked in, so send each day's returns in one batch.
