Sponsors and exhibitors survey questions

Sponsor questions that show what brings sponsors back next year

Ask sponsors and exhibitors what the event gave them, from leads and visibility to how easy your team was to work with. Each question below comes with when to ask it and what the answer tells you.

What sponsor feedback survey questions tell you

Sponsor feedback survey questions ask the companies that paid for a booth or a package what they got back: leads, visibility, the right audience and a team that made the logistics easy. Sponsorship money can decide next year's budget, and a sponsor who quietly doesn't renew rarely explains why unless you ask.

Ask within a week of the event, once sponsors have counted their leads but before they plan next year's budget. Usertick sends to your sponsor contacts by email, or you can put the link in your own wrap up note. Ask most of the set, and collect the logo in a separate survey when the sponsor signs.

Each written answer is given a theme, a type and a sentiment as it arrives, so ideas for the package and complaints about logistics sort themselves. Give each sponsor's response an owner in the inbox, and send the answers on to HubSpot so the account owner sees them before the renewal call.

The 14 sponsors and exhibitors questions, with when to ask each

Grouped by what they tell you. Use them as they are or change the wording.

What sponsors got back

Start with the return on the sponsorship: the grid, the lead count and the audience fit tell you what to show in next year's pitch.

  1. 01Matrix

    Rate your sponsorship on each

Rates leads, visibility, logistics and staff support in one grid. The heat map shows which row lets sponsors down, and the row averages put numbers on the question of value.

  2. 02Number

How many qualified leads did you collect?

The qualified leads each sponsor counted. Results shows the median and the middle half, a fair figure for next year's sponsor pack even when one sponsor collected far more than the rest.

  3. 05Multiple choice

What was the biggest win for you?

Asks for the single biggest win. Results shows each share on a donut; keep Nothing yet as an option, since a sponsor who has seen no return is the one to call first.

  4. 08Big scale

How well did the audience match your target?

A ten point score for audience fit. Select the low scores to see which package those sponsors took and what they would change; a poor match points to the attendee mix, which invitations can change.

The package and the booth

These show which parts of the package earned their price, so you can reshape the tiers before you sell them again.

  1. 04Stars

How would you rate your booth location?

One star rating for the booth location. Compare it across the floor plan: a corner or an aisle that scores low year after year needs a lower price or better signs.

  2. 07Multiple choice

    Which package elements mattered?

Sponsors pick every part of the package that mattered. Results shows a bar for each, so you can see which elements to keep in every tier and which to sell on their own.

  3. 10This or that

As a sponsor, what would you choose?

Two trade offs a sponsor would make. Results shows a split bar per pair, which helps you decide whether to sell more speaking slots or bigger booths, and whether to grow the audience or match it better.

Working with your team

Ask how easy your team was to work with and what would add value, the answers your sales team needs before the renewal call.

  1. 09Customer effort

How easy was it to work with our team?

A customer effort score for working with your team, on a seven point scale. Results shows the average and the share who found it easy, a useful check on your sponsor managers and their deadlines.

  2. 06Text

What would make sponsoring more valuable?

The open question for ideas. Each answer arrives with a type, such as idea or complaint, and a theme, so suggestions for the package sit apart from logistics problems.

Coming back next year

Close with renewal: whether sponsors would return, recommend you and at what budget, read by the package they took.

  1. 03Yes / No

    Would you sponsor again?

A plain yes or no on renewing. Select No in Results to read those sponsors' grid and open answer, so your team can call them with an answer to their concern before the sales cycle starts.

  2. 11NPS

How likely are you to recommend sponsoring us?

The recommendation score for sponsoring your event. Results shows promoters, passives and detractors; promoters are the sponsors to ask for a referral or a quote for next year's pack.

  3. 12Dropdown

    Which package did you take?

Which package the sponsor bought. Select Gold or Bronze in Results to compare the grid and the score by tier, which shows whether each tier delivers what it costs.

  4. 14Slider

What sponsorship budget do you have?

A slider for next year's sponsorship budget, from 1,000 to 50,000. Results shows the median and the middle half, which helps you price each tier before you sell it.

Before the event

Collect the logo in a short survey when the sponsor signs, well before the print deadline.

  1. 13File upload

Upload your logo for the event materials

Collects the sponsor's logo for signs, badges and the website, in a survey you send when they sign. Results keeps the files in a gallery. File upload is on every plan, 1 per survey on Free.

Tips for asking about sponsors and exhibitors

Small choices that get honest, useful answers.

  1. 01

    Wait until leads are counted

Send the survey a few days after the event, once sponsors have followed up their leads. Asked on the last day, the lead questions have no answer yet.

  2. 02

Read answers before the renewal call

Read each sponsor's answers before your team talks about next year, so the call starts with their concern.

  3. 03

Keep the logo for a separate survey

Collect logos and other files when the sponsor signs, and keep the survey after the event about what the sponsorship returned.

  4. 04

    Read the answers by package

Select each package in Results to see how its sponsors scored the event, and change the tiers that don't pay off.
