Hear why donors give, and why they stop

Ask donors after a gift, volunteers after a shift and the people you serve after a program, by email, QR code or on your website. Usertick reads every written answer and sends it to the person who follows up, in Slack, a Google Sheet or HubSpot.

Know what keeps supporters with you

A nonprofit survey sent once a year asks people to remember a gift, a shift or an event from months ago. Ask right after each one instead, and donor surveys, volunteer check-ins and program feedback tell you what to repeat and what to fix before the next appeal.

With Usertick, donors answer the first question inside the email, volunteers answer from a QR code at the end of a shift, and people who just signed or gave answer on your website's thank-you page. Participants in a program answer on their own phone, in their own language from Starter.

Every written answer is read as it arrives and filed under categories drafted for your work, such as giving, volunteering and programs, in any language. Results shows each score against the period before, and workflows send answers to Slack, a Google Sheet or the supporter's record in HubSpot or Salesforce.

Ask after every gift, shift and program

Put each question at the moment it asks about, while people still remember it.

A few days after a gift

Ask donors how easy giving was, what moved them to give and how they want to hear about the impact. Donors answer the first question inside the email.

On your website's thank-you page

Show a question on the page people see after they donate or sign a petition, and ask what they would do next. The page has to be on your own website.

At the end of a volunteer shift

Put the survey's QR code on the sign-out table, or send the link the day after, and ask how the shift went and whether volunteers will come back.

After a program session

Show the QR code at the end of a workshop, or share the link in your follow-up message with a tag for each location, and ask whether the session helped and what to change.

Before a membership renews

A month before renewal, ask members how likely they are to recommend joining and what they value most, with the score inside the email.

Answers filed the way your organization works

Choose Other at sign-up and type nonprofit, and Usertick drafts a starting set of categories from it, such as giving, volunteering and programs, for you to check in Settings. Until you use them, answers are sorted with the general set. Rename categories and themes on any plan, and add your own within your plan's limit, from 5 categories on Free to 30 on Business.

Turn every answer into a follow-up

Workflows send each answer to the people and tools that act on it.

Volunteer answers to the coordinator

Post every answer from a volunteer shift to your volunteers channel in Slack or Microsoft Teams as it arrives. Every plan.

An alert when giving gets harder

Set a line for the effort score on your donor survey, and Usertick posts to Slack or Teams within the hour once it is crossed. Every plan.

A person for every lapsed donor

Assign the answers from lapsed donors to a fundraiser, add a note, and move each one from Open to Resolved once someone has called.

Answers on the supporter's record

Write the answers to the contact in HubSpot, or create a record or a note in Salesforce through a Zapier step, on every plan.

Every answer in a Google Sheet

Add each answer as a row in a sheet your team already shares, kept up to date as answers are read and resolved. Every plan.

Show your board what supporters say

Results and reports turn answers into figures you can bring to the meeting.

What changed this month

Once a period has 30 responses, the AI reading says what changed, such as a theme that is growing among volunteers, and what to do next. Every plan.

A report for the board meeting

Export Results or a dashboard as a PDF on any plan, 3 times a month on Free. From Pro, send it every month by email to members of your organization, or to a Slack or Teams channel.

Works with the tools your team already uses

Send answers to Slack and Google Sheets, and to Salesforce, Constant Contact or Airtable through Zapier, on every plan. HubSpot and Mailchimp connect directly.

How nonprofits start with Usertick

Four steps from the first survey to answers someone follows up.

  1. 1

    Name your sector at sign-up

Choose Other and type nonprofit, then check the categories Usertick drafts from it in Settings, or keep the general set.

  2. 2

    Start from a template

Pick Donor feedback, Lapsed donor, Volunteer shift or Program participant feedback, or describe what you want to learn to Create with AI.

  3. 3

    Reach your supporters

Import your supporter list as a CSV and send by email, print the QR code for sites and events, or add the script tag to your website's thank-you pages.

  4. 4

    Send answers to your team

Add a workflow that posts volunteer answers to Slack, sets an alert on your donor survey and writes donor answers to HubSpot or a Google Sheet.

How nonprofits get answers they can use

Six habits that keep surveys short and supporters willing to answer.

  1. 01

    Ask soon after the moment

Ask donors within days of a gift and volunteers the day after a shift, while they still remember the details.

  2. 02

    Ask lapsed donors why

A short survey a year after the last gift shows whether people stopped over money, too many asks or too little news about the impact.

  3. 03

    Show what the answers changed

Tell supporters in your next update what you changed because of their answers, so they see that answering leads somewhere.

  4. 04

Make program surveys easy to answer

Use faces, short choices and the participant's own language, and keep the survey to three or four questions.

  5. 05

    Ask only what you need

Leave out names and contact details unless someone will follow up, and turn on Anonymous responses for surveys of the people you serve.

  6. 06

    Tag each place

Add a tag such as ?utm_source=north-site to the link you share for each site or event, so every answer shows where it came from.

Frequently asked questions

Ask donors after a gift, volunteers after a shift, members before they renew and participants after a program, by email, link, QR code or on your website. Usertick reads every written answer and sends it to Slack, a Google Sheet, HubSpot or Salesforce.

Yes. Import your list as a CSV with an email and a name on each line, up to 2,000 rows at a time, and send to everyone or to chosen lists. Usertick sends 50 emails a month on Free, 500 on Starter, 2,500 on Pro and 10,000 on Business, and emails sent through your own email provider have no Usertick allowance.

Yes. Effort scores, star ratings, NPS, yes or no and choice questions show inside the email. Selecting an answer opens the rest of the survey with it kept, and the response counts once the donor selects Submit.

HubSpot and Mailchimp connect directly on every plan: HubSpot gets the answers on the contact, and Mailchimp updates the fields and tags of people already in your audience. Salesforce is reached through a Zapier step, and Salesforce on Zapier needs a paid Zapier plan.

Usertick doesn't take payments. A survey can end with a call to action that opens your donation page in a new tab, and Results counts how many people selected it.

Yes, by link or QR code. With Anonymous responses on, Usertick stores no ID, traits or browser ID with the answers. A survey emailed through Usertick stays tied to each person's contact, so share anonymous surveys as a link.

Usertick's terms don't allow surveys aimed at people under 16, or knowingly collecting their answers, unless Usertick has agreed otherwise in writing. For youth programs, ask parents, guardians or staff instead.

From Starter, a survey can carry several languages, and each person sees their browser's language when the survey has it, or picks one from the list. Written answers are read in any language, and right-to-left languages such as Arabic mirror the layout.

Export Results or a dashboard as a PDF, Excel or CSV file on any plan, 3 times a month on Free, or send a dashboard as a PDF every month to members of your organization from Pro. Dashboards are shared with members, and there is no public link.

Email, link, QR code and website surveys, Results, AI reading and workflows to Slack, Google Sheets, HubSpot, Mailchimp and Zapier come with every plan, the free plan included, with 150 responses a month. Starter adds more languages per survey and more workflows, and Pro adds scheduled reports.
